Strongman Corporation Partners with Spot to Offer Injury Insurance for their Athletes

AUSTIN, TX May 2, 2022 — Spot, the on-demand injury insurance company protecting everyone from athletes and adventurers to families at home, announced a new partnership with Strongman Corporation, the sole sanctioning and governing body for the sport of professional Strongman in the United States, to bring a new level of protection to athletes who are participating in strength sports competitions.

As part of the partnership, Spot offers members access to a unique, affordable insurance policy that covers medical bills stemming from injuries sustained during competitions licensed by Strongman Corporation.

Annual Strongman Corporation members who sign up for Spot can now receive up to $25K for out-of-pocket medical bills, with a $0 deductible, in the event of an injury, whether they have health insurance or not. Injuries can lead to devastating medical bills; Spot fills in the gaps left by health insurance by paying out-of-pocket medical expenses for accidental injuries. “As a group of people with active lifestyles, we know firsthand the importance of having that extra layer of protection while doing the things we love,” said Chiara Moore, VP of Brand Partnerships at Spot. “With this new partnership, we hope to continue breaking some of the common barriers that prevent people from living their fullest lives—including the fear of medical debt after an injury.”

Spot coverage allows Strongman Corporation members to receive treatment at any licensed physician, hospital, or urgent care clinic. Once they receive their first bill, they can file a claim through Spot’s website by uploading pictures of the bill, explaining how they were injured, and answering a few other questions. After quick communications through email and chat, Spot’s claims team coordinates payment via check to the visitor or their healthcare provider.

“We’re very excited about partnering with Spot to offer this groundbreaking injury coverage to our members,” said Dione Masters, CEO of Strongman Corporation. “This collaboration will give our community the peace of mind they need to reach their full potential and focus on a full recovery in the event of an injury.”
